aims at connecting two main motorway axes.The first one coming from Bulgarian
border to Ankara via İstanbul which is now under operation except for a 20 km mountain pass in Bolu. The second axis, starting from Mersin and İskenderun ports goes through South Eastern Anatolia region on which lodges one of the most ambitious ongoing projects of Turkey; namely GAP. This axis is partially under operation and expected to be completed in 2000. Ankara-Pozantı Motorway will combine these two motorway trunk routes and also bring service to the Cappadocia region. The project was awarded in 1998 according to full credit-based financing and yearly required amount of the credit has been sought. |
